Thanks for your interest in working with us!
Motivated and independent students/researchers with evolutionary biology and ecology background are particularly welcome.
Although the research carried out at Molecular Ecology Lab is not restricted to any biological system, I encourage students to focus on coastal communities and pursue questions at the intersection of ecology and evolution - a field that I feel best equipped to provide guidance.
We highly appreciate collaborative work and study. The expectation is that everyone in the lab will look for and share scientific questions and findings, interesting papers, useful tools, new approaches and novel ideas with the group.
Our team regards undergraduate and graduate training a really serious matter and we treat it accordingly. Huge efforts and long days/weeks/months are devoted to the development of soft and hard skills that can ultimately make young trainees better scientists (and people!).
We consider each one different, thus with particular needs and aspirations.
If you are interested in joining or collaborating with our team, please send us an email (see the website bottom). Please, provide relevant background experience information and some questions you are interested in.
From 2020 on, we will have a Lab Manual, which aims to set a transparent working and living environment, where everybody is aware of responsabilities, general lab policies, good practices in research and so on. So far, our team is only composed by Brazilian members, thus, this manual is only in Portuguese. I hope that we may have Spanish and English versions soon.
If you have any inquiry, please leave us a message below or send us an email.
